NEW FORTH BRIDGE SHOULD BE MULTI-MODAL: LIB DEMS

12.00.00am GMT Mon 25th Jan 2010

Commenting on the proposed maintenance of the existing Forth Road Bridge, Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson Alison McInnes said:

"We are concerned that the bridge isn't being built with the capacity for trams, buses and cars. In the long term this would be the most economical option.

"Opting for the bargain basement option and hoping the existing bridge is going to last forever will work out to be a false economy."
