National Adoption Week needs support to bridge "Adoption Gap" - McInnes

12.00.00am GMT Wed 11th Nov 2009

North East Regional MSP, Alison McInnes, urges all constituents to think about adoption, particularly this week, by looking at what they can offer a child.

The theme for this years' Adoption Week, which runs until 15 November, is the "Adoption Gap".

Mrs McInnes said:

"Adoption agencies often have prospective adoptive parents who want to adopt a baby but stress they need people to come forward who would consider adopting older children, sibling groups and disabled children.

"Keep an open mind and see the individual child is the call from agencies. There are great rewards to be had in transforming a child's life forever."
