FSB REACTING TO FLOODS FAR QUICKER THAN GOVERNMENT

12.00.00am GMT Wed 4th Nov 2009

Commenting as the Federation of Small Businesses opens a £500,000 fund for its members affected by flooding in the North East of Scotland, Liberal Democrat MSP Alison McInnes said:

"This is a welcome move from the FSB. Small businesses across the North East are desperate for help. Stock has been destroyed and premises have been badly damaged. This fund could be the difference between a business being forced to close or getting back on its feet.

"The FSB has put the Government to shame. Their quick action contrasts with the Government's dawdling. Businesses and homeowners need help now and the Government is not providing it."

Details of the fund and how to apply can be found on the FSB's website, here: http://www.fsb.org.uk/default.aspx?id=167&loc=021

Ends.
