NETWORK RAIL AND TRAIN OPERATORS MUST WORK TO CUT DELAYS - MCINNES12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 1st Jun 2009 Commenting on the news that as many as two out of every five trains on Britain's busiest rail line, the West Coast main line, are still running late despite a £9 billion upgrade, Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said: "People put up with immense disruption on this line for many years to get this upgrade. The very least they should be able to expect is for these trains to be running on time. "We should be long passed the stage of having teething problems with this route. "The train operators and Network Rail need to work together to cut delays."
