127mph on A90 with a child in car -utterly reckless- McInnes

12.00.00am GMT Tue 20th Jan 2009

Local MSP and Liberal Democrat Transport Spokesperson Alison McInnes has reacted with shock and dismay at the news that a 47 year old was reported by Police for driving at 127mph on the Aberdeen to Peterhead road. Not only was he putting his own and other motorists' lives at risk, this reckless driver had a seven year old child as a passenger.

Commenting, Mrs McInnes said:

"I am completely shocked to hear about such a reckless act occurring on our North East roads. It beggars belief that the driver put a child's life at risk in this way.

"The North East's almost weekly toll of road accidents must be reduced, and it is vital that Grampian Police continue to prioritise road safety through their traffic patrols."

Ends.
