Community Transport is natural progression of free bus scheme - McInnes

12.00.00am GMT Mon 15th Dec 2008

Calls for the free national bus scheme to be extended to include demand responsive community transport have been supported by Liberal Democrat Transport Spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP.

Commenting Mrs McInnes said:

"The extension of the free bus scheme to include demand responsive community transport is the natural progression of a policy that the Liberal Democrats introduced across Scotland.

"The reality of rural life means that in many parts of Scotland community led transport is the only alternative to using a car. The extension of this scheme would make public transport more accessible to many and I hope to work with the Government to make this happen."
