SQA Star Award for Angus College praised by McInnes12.00.00am GMT Thu 27th Nov 2008 North East MSP Alison McInnes today gave praise to Angus College as they picked up the Star Award for Innovation from SQA in Glasgow. Angus College earned the award for the production and implementation of a new learning programme in its construction department. Mrs McInnes commented "It is a very beneficial programme, both for the students who gain practical experience and the local construction firms, who have the students working with them. "The students of today are the skilled tradespersons of tomorrow." This was not the only achievement at the awards as Tricia Lowe was commended in the Lifelong Learning category having achieved SVQ level 4 and becoming an SVQ assessor. "There are many students at Angus College from all walks of life and of all ages, who are succeeding in their chosen courses. It is enormously rewarding for the college and the community to see this being recognised and rewarded.
