Council services should be accessible to all - McInnes

10.00.00am GMT Wed 12th Nov 2008

Commenting on the Accounts Commission's report into race equality in Scotland's councils, Liberal Democrat Local Government spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:

"Scotland is becoming an increasingly diverse country. Although I am pleased that most councils have measures in place to promote race equality, this report shows that more work is needed to deliver true equality.

"Council employees must receive proper training and support so that they can make sure that council services are accessible to all, regardless of race."

Ends.
