McInnes calls for local business to rise to Portsoy PO challenge

North East MSP Alison McInnes has called on local retailers to consider hosting Post Office services following the resignation of the current subpostmaster.

Portsoy Post Office will be closed from 29 October until a replacement can be found.

Mrs McInnes said: "I am disappointed by the news that Portsoy will be without this vital community facility. Ideally a community-minded business person will step forward to provide Post Office services to the people of Portsoy."

Cullen and Whitehills are the closest branches to Portsoy, 5 and 5½ miles away respectively.
