McInnes calls for constituents' to stake a claim in Games legacy4.12.00pm GMT Thu 5th Jun 2008 Alison McInnes today called upon Aberdeen residents to air their views regarding the legacy from the Commonwealth Games. The Scottish Government is conducting a series of public meetings to discuss the potential lasting legacy from the games for the whole of Scotland, including in Aberdeen and Dundee. Ms McInnes said: "The Commonwealth Games will be paid for by the whole nation and the whole nation should benefit from them, not just Glasgow. I am pleased that the Government is being proactive in this regard and would urge Aberdonians and Dundonians to attend the meeting. In so doing, the North East can stake a claim to a truly national event with genuinely national benefits." The Aberdeen meeting is to be held 30th June 2008 at Town & County Hall, Town House, Union Street from 18:00 to 19:30. The Dundee meeting is to be held 12 June at the Hilton Hotel, Earl Grey Place from 18:00 to 19:30. All are welcome.
