North East MSP Alison McInnes has welcomed comments from the Government about the timetable for the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route in response to her questioning in Parliament.

At question time today, the Transport Minister confirmed that the details of the Public Inquiry into the Route will be announced very shortly - and when pressed by Mrs McInnes further, offered assurances that the Government will move swiftly to a conclusion once the reporter has made their recommendations.

Commenting, Mrs McInnes said: "I am pleased that the public inquiry into the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route looks like it will be moving forward in the near future.

"The fact that the Government have now committed to reaching a quick conclusion after the inquiry is completed can only be good news, and I hope that the project will now be allowed to move forward without any further delays."
