Alison McInnes MSP has raised concerns about the recent decision by the SNP government to convene a National Police Board.
Explaining her view, Alison said: "Local policing has long proved its worth in the North East and a one-size-fits-all approach to policing is entirely wrong. The national body is to be chaired by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice. A National Police Board, appointed without debate in our Parliament - and with no basis in law - moves us down the dangerous road towards government interference in operational policing matters."
