Commenting on the latest papers from the climate change targets working group, Climate Change spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:
"The progress that we have made so far demonstrates that we were right to reject the annual targets proposed by the Government in June.
"These latest proposals represent an additional saving of 14 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent over the next ten years. That's the same as taking all the cars in Scotland off the road for the next two years.
"I am pleased that we were able to work with the Minister on a number of proposals including decarbonising road transport.
"The wider roll out of electric charging points for vehicles is something that Liberal Democrats have been leading on and we are delighted that Transport Scotland is now taking this forward.
