Commenting on the Tories' proposed clock changes, Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson and MSP for the North East, Alison McInnes, said:
"In areas like the North East of Scotland, putting the clocks an extra hour forward would be dangerous and wrong.
"For children it would mean travelling to school in the dark, greatly increasing the chance of road traffic accidents.
"There is also a need to consider trade links. A change like this would mean there was even less overlap in the working day with our trading partners in the States."
