In response to a question raised by North East MSP Alison McInnes, Dundee City Council has agreed to encourage transport providers to work with them to implement services to new housing developments on the periphery of the city.
Alison McInnes commented:
"I contacted Dundee City Council about the lack of public transport to several housing estates on the outskirts of Dundee. The City Council has given me an assurance that it will work closely with the commercial sector to ensure that local residents in areas such as Emmock Woods have access to public transport links.
"I am particularly pleased that the Council proposes to introduce a Demand Responsive Transport pilot in the Mid Craigie and Liniathen areas, which, if successful could possibly lead to a city wide service. "
