GOVERNMENT CLIMATE CHANGE TARGETS EXTREMELY UNAMBITIOUS: MCINNES

Responding to the publication of the Scottish Government's climate change targets, Liberal Democrat Climate Change spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:

"These draft targets are extremely unambitious.

"We all know that early action is the best way to target climate change.

"There is no shortage of quick wins available on climate change and it is very disappointing that the Scottish Government did not make the most of this opportunity.

"Liberal Democrats take climate change seriously. We believe there is a huge opportunity to get out of this recession by going green, strengthening the economy and creating jobs that last."
