Alison McInnes, standing up for anxious residents in Stonehaven, has written to John Swinney urging him to provide the financial support necessary to ensure that Bervie Braes are stabilised without further delay.
Mrs McInnes commented:
"Stonehaven residents who have properties located at the bottom of Bervie Braes have expressed their grave concern regarding the danger of a catastrophic landslip in an area where local slips have been occurring for many years.
"Aberdeenshire Council submitted a formal request last year for funds to carry out the pinning work which would secure the Braes from slipping, yet 5 months later, I am disappointed to say that they have not received a response.
"A fresh slip last weekend has caused a great deal of anxiety and the community is on high alert. The Scottish government must take action before it is too late"
