Robert Brown MSP, Alison McInnes MSP, Katy Gordon & George Lyon MEP join "The Wave" in Glasgow
Liberal Democrat Climate Change spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP joined The Wave climate change demonstration in Glasgow on Saturday.
The demonstration march took place ahead of the crucial UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen. Thousands of people flowed through the streets of Glasgow to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future for all.
The Wave was organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland.
Commenting before the march, Mrs McInnes said:
"I am delighted to be joining The Wave climate change demonstration march.
"I hope that politicians from around the world will sit up and take notice of the clear message being sent by the thousands of people involved in these events across the UK.
"Copenhagen is a crucial step in the international fight to reduce carbon. The message is clear - we have to get it right.
"In passing our Climate Change Bill Scotland has already shown that we are ready to lead the world in the fight to reduce carbon emissions.
"The UK as a whole, however, is still at the bottom of the European league table for levels of renewable energy. The Labour Government has failed to show the leadership to be taken seriously on the international stage.
"The Liberal Democrats are the only party in UK politics who have committed to ambitious and detailed plans to cut carbon emissions.
"There is only a small window of opportunity to stop dangerous climate change, only the Liberal Democrats will take it."
