Responding to an excellent HMIE report into the provision of Child Protection services in Aberdeenshire, local MSP Alison McInnes has praised Aberdeenshire Council saying:
"At a time when there has been much criticism of child protection services in other areas, it is really heartening to read a report praising the service provided locally. Aberdeenshire Council have shown some wonderful examples of good practice which include 'Peer Listening', providing effective emotional support within five schools and 'Time Out For Teens', helping parents understand and meet the needs of their teenage children better, thus reducing conflict at home. It is clear that family centres and family support workers are consistently providing a range of services to both parents and children, and that staff from different services work well together."
