North East Scotland MSP Alison McInnes has welcomed tomorrow's (Thursday 22nd) launch of new, state-of-the-art coaches by Stagecoach Bluebird on their Aberdeen-Buchan routes.
The coaches, which will begin operating on improved timetables from next Monday, feature wi-fi technology allowing passengers to browse the internet while they travel.
Commenting, Mrs McInnes said:
"I'm delighted that Stagecoach Bluebird have decided to introduce these new coaches on their Buchan Link services. Making wi-fi available to passengers is a great way of encouraging people to leave their cars at home, and to take advantage of public transport.
"Investment in the latest technology is one of the key ways that we can promote buses - and public transport in general - to commuters. I hope that it will become an increasingly common feature across Scotland, as we seek to make public transport the automatic choice for short journeys."
