TORIES VOTE WITH SNP TO BLOCK EARLY ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Commenting after a debate in the Scottish Parliament where the Conservatives voted with the SNP to block a Liberal Democrat amendment to give the Climate Change Bill real teeth, Liberal Democrat Climate Change spokesperson Alison McInnes said:

"Neither the SNP nor the Conservatives appear willing to acknowledge the obvious weaknesses in the current draft Bill.

"Liberal Democrats will continue to press the Scottish Government to make sure that this Bill is fit for purpose and contains a real commitment to early action on climate change."
