Commenting on the Scottish Government's second National Planning Framework, Liberal Democrat Infrastructure spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:
"I'm pleased to see several important projects included in this framework, like the Rosyth International Container Port. But, much of this framework relies on good transport links.
"Indeed, the document itself states that 'there is a need to tackle congestion and improve public transport links between and within our cities'. It then goes on to focus on several of the projects outlined in the Government's Strategic Transport Projects Review.
"The First Minister yesterday failed to give reassurances that these transport projects would go ahead if Treasury funding for the new Forth crossing was not forthcoming.
"This new framework illustrates the importance of these transport upgrades and projects. We need clear confirmation about funding and timescales for the other projects in the STPR."
