McInnes savours flavour of regional food economy

Inverurie-based MSP Alison McInnes today described the North East as a world class food producer ahead of Saturday's Taste of Grampian exhibition at the Thainstone Centre.
She said: "Whilst some see eating locally-produced food as a cross we have to bear for environmental reasons, Aberdeenshire residents can celebrate a uniquely diverse food producing economy. It's quite possible to have a feast of world class food and drink sourced entirely from the area.
"Smaller producers, as well as success stories like Dean's of Huntly and Mackie's ice-cream, add local flavour to our regional economic recipe.
"I look forward to the Taste of Grampian event where we'll discover innovative new success stories like Ola Oil as well as the familiar favourites."
