Alison McInnes today called upon Aberdeen residents to air their views regarding the legacy from the Commonwealth Games.
The Scottish Government is conducting a series of public meetings to discuss the potential lasting legacy from the games for the whole of Scotland, including in Aberdeen and Dundee.
Ms McInnes said: "The Commonwealth Games will be paid for by the whole nation and the whole nation should benefit from them, not just Glasgow. I am pleased that the Government is being proactive in this regard and would urge Aberdonians and Dundonians to attend the meeting. In so doing, the North East can stake a claim to a truly national event with genuinely national benefits."
The Aberdeen meeting is to be held 30th June 2008 at Town & County Hall, Town House, Union Street from 18:00 to 19:30.
The Dundee meeting is to be held 12 June at the Hilton Hotel, Earl Grey Place from 18:00 to 19:30.
All are welcome.
