Alison McInnes today paid tribute to pupils and staff at Rathen Primary School in Fraserburgh after they put the finishing touches to their eco-garden.
Work on what was once a patch of rough ground at the school began last year, and this week pupils finished off the project with a mural depicting local scenery and wildlife.
Commenting, the North East MSP said "I am very much looking forward to seeing the eco-garden which sounds like a remarkable accomplishment."
McInnes also mentioned the involvement of the local Howford Training Centre, which assists people with learning disabilities, describing the project as "an ideal forum for this kind of community cooperation."
She continued, "The project is a model for other schools wishing to build links with the local community"
