The Scottish Government must bring forward bus priority measures on the Forth Road Bridge, according to Scottish Liberal Democrat Transport spokeswoman, Alison McInnes.
Mrs McInnes was speaking after the Scottish Parliament held the Stage One debate on the Abolition of Bridge Tolls Bill.
"Liberal Democrats will support scrapping the unfair tolls on the Forth Road Bridge, but we want the Government to introduce measures to combat any increased congestion.
"Several successful bus routes depend on the Forth Road Bridge and in order to keep travellers using public transport and out of their cars, we must keep these services running freely. Bus priority measures, introduced at the same time as changes to the traffic management schemes would be a good way of accomplishing this."
